Library Training Workshops

Hello,

This fall, we encourage you to ask your students to complete the 2020-2021 Research Skills Tutorial presented online on D2L starting September 7 th . Students who have completed this tutorial will be able to give you a certificate of completion.

This tutorial will be particularly useful for those who have never used the library before. It introduces reading bibliographic references, library tools (catalogue, databases), subject accuracy, research, evaluation and presentation of the information found. Information skills much needed for our university community!

You can also contact your liaison librarian or the archivist at least two weeks before a date you would like to organize a training workshop equivalent to BIBL 2000 - Searching Library Databases and Google Scholar.

These workshops, lasting between one and two hours, depending on your needs, introduce library resources in your discipline, teach database research skills and the use of Google Scholar, and as time permits introduce the formatting of citations and bibliographical references

This fall session, we will not be offering BIBL 3000 - Initiation to Zotero (bibliographic reference management software) workshop.
Instead, we've provided the community with a dedicated page that introduces Zotero and provides step by step instructions on its installation and use.

The librarians will also provide virtual office and chat hours after the start of the school year to answer questions and guide the community in their research.
Our news page provides the latest information about changes to services and resources.

Have a great end of summer; we look forward to working with you!
