Land Acknowledgment - Aki Gaabijidebendaagwak

We would like to acknowledge the Robinson-Huron Treaty of 1850. We also further recognize that Laurentian University is located on the traditional lands of the Atikameksheng Anishnawbek and that the City of Greater Sudbury, also includes the traditional lands of the Wahnapitae First Nation. We extend our deepest respect to Indigenous peoples - as a sign of our continued relationship we will support Laurentian University’s Truth and Reconciliation Task Force Recommendations. Miigwech. News and highlights

The Library and Archives will no longer be accepting any new library resource donations (books or journals) until the end of 2027 in order to allow for the evaluation and processing of the many donated collections accepted during the past years. This decision will not impact donations to the Archives.

Laurentian University Library & Archives is excited to unveil its new Strategic Plan for 2025-2030!

Driven by months of community input, including the LibQUAL+ survey, consultations with Senior Leadership, and staff retreats, we have established a renewed mission and vision, guided by the core values of Equitable Access, Human Connection, Lifelong Learning, Responsiveness, and Stewardship.

A big thank you goes out to Dr. Shorthouse, Professor Emeritus, formerly with the Department of Biology whose generous donation led to the creation of the The Archival Services Enhancement Fund. The goal is to equip the Archives to meet current and future needs while fostering academic collaboration and research.
