Even though we are in the midst of a pandemic, the library continues to welcome gifts from its friends.  Our sincere thanks to all our donors this year.

Recently, for example, Dr. Roger Pilon (Nursing) donated two copies of a book he co-edited, Canadian Perspectives on Advanced Practice Nursing, 2nd ed., 2020, updating the first edition published in 2016.

Not only is Dr. Pilon a co-editor of this new edition, but it also includes three chapters co-authored  by him: Chapter 2: Advanced Practice Nursing in Quebec; Chapter 3: Advanced Practice Nursing Education in Canada; and Chapter 9: Indigenous Populations.

There is also a chapter written by Dr. Pilon’s colleague, Dr. Roberta Heale, Chapter 33: Advanced Practice Nursing from a Global Perspective. In addition, Dr. Jennifer Fournier, the NP program clinical praxis coordinator and sessional faculty member contributed a spotlight piece on cosmetic injections.

Both books have now been catalogued: https://omni.laurentian.ca/permalink/01OCUL_LU/jgnahc/alma991010138356005165

One copy is available in circulation and may be requested through curbside pickup; the second has been assigned to the University Faculty Authors’ collection, currently housed in the Archives.

The School of Nursing offers an Advanced Practice Nursing (APN) stream as one of its master’s programs.

Dr. Pilon is currently the Director of the School of Nursing.

Faculty and students interested in donating to the library may contact gifts librarian Ashley Thomson (athomson@laurentian.ca), and donations accepted are eligible for receipts for income tax purposes.
